Time

What is time and how do you feel about it?  Does it scare you or does it inspire you?

You may have heard others comment that all they have is time, or that, they don’t have enough time.

Managing time can be a challenge.  Deep down, we know that time doesn’t wait...for anyone.  No matter what your status is – rich, poor; or where you live or what you possess - you can’t buy more time, or have more of it.

24 hours is 24 hours.

So, why am I blogging about this topic?

I often have people ask out of curiosity, how much time does it take to train for a race…like an IRONMAN?

My first initial thought is…A LOT.  But, there’s more to it than that.

Training and “life”, in general, is a balance.  Like anything else, it’s the balance between time spent in training to doing my daily job at school. To being a wife; to being a mother and finding time to get the daily, general things done.

So how much time goes into training?  To help you have some understanding about this question, between now and October, I’ll frequently post about my training log and how much time I’ve spent on each event. More on this to come in a later post.

One of the purposes of this blog is to allow you to feel connected in my LLS journey and in my incredible mission with Team In Training.

For patients who have been diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, time is of the essence.

Every 3 minutes someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 9 minutes someone in the U.S. dies from blood cancer.

These diseases strike some 107,000 Americans each year and one-third of those diagnosed with a blood cancer do not live five years past diagnosis. L

Here’s the hard truth:  we are here on this earth for such a short amount of time.

Please join me in my mission to help find a cure for blood cancer.

In closing, we’re granted the same amount of time.  Ultimately, it’s what YOU choose to do with it that makes all the difference in the world.

Let’s take time to make a change.
